2022-My Aims and Goals

It is going to be hard to compete with last year as I managed to achieve an awful lot for me. Nevertheless, below are my aims and goals for 2022.

Work

I hope to continue working, hopefully I can learn new skills and progress my career. Maybe even later in the year I may be able to increase my hours a bit.

Accounting

It isn’t the first time I have mentioned this, but maybe this year is the year for starting to study ACCA? I think I need to be careful to try and balance everything though.

Journalism Success

I have just found out that I passed my last journalism unit- How Society Works. This means I have enough credits and have officially passed my Certificate Foundation in Journalism (CFJ). Some good news for the beginning of the year.

Grammar

A bit of a random section, but there are many aspects of my knowledge missing, due to me missing many years of education as a teenager. I hope I can close a few of those gaps a bit this year, particularly grammar. Although, to be honest English has never been my strong point!

Blogging

I will strive to continue writing my blog and articles when I get the chance. Advocating and helping to improve the lives of disabled people.

Hope

This is not influenced by me. However, it gives me hope for 2022 that things are going in the right direction. The purple band around the middle is to do with the fact that purple is increasingly the colour linked to disability. It also highlights 3rd December- International Day of Persons with Disabilities. (Though I think we need to remember awareness needs to occur every day not just one day a year.) Well done Coca-Cola. I am impressed!

Charity Work

I hope to continue my ambassador role with White Lodge. Raising awareness of the charity, and breaking down barriers between the public and the disabled community.

To continue making my handmade cards for Starlight Children’s Foundation. Last year, this took a slight back burner, as I was so busy with my #BenHannah3530 challenge. It was the first year in the last eight years that I had not made any Christmas cards!

Christianity

I would like to become a better Christian. To get into a better routine watching the online services each week and developing my faith.

Physiotherapy and Independence

This is an ongoing process. To gain more mobility, a better quality of life and be less dependent on others. I will continue with it in 2022.

To Be Realistic

To be realistic will be the hardest! But one I need to do. I have been struggling lately. My first day back at work was extremely long and just too much for me. I certainly paid for it. I need to realise my limitations. I need to learn to say: “No”, or ask for help in all aspects of my life. This will not be easy. I like to take on opportunities and better myself where possible.

This may mean 2022 will not have any dramatic achievements, but that is okay, because your health matters. I am currently on a treadmill and I can’t keep up. It is not sustainable.

Happy New Year! I hope it is a kind year to you. Do you have any big plans or goals? Let me know.
